The victim and suspect in the assault that happened on July 16 in Grand Rapids have been identified.  According to the Grand Rapids Police Department, 23-year-old Kyle William Johnson was stabbed in the chest by 28-year-old Josh Joseph Julien. Both men are from Grand Rapids.

Julien fled the scene on foot and was apprehended shortly afterwards in a nearby woods. He is currently in custody in the Itasca County Jail awaiting charges.

Johnson has been taken to a Duluth hospital and is listed in fair condition.

Grand Rapids police chief Jim Denny adds that, while the motive for the attack remains under investigation, the two men were known to each other, and this was not a random act of violence.
